Barrel Horse Clinics

Jane's  love for barrel racing does not stop with horses. She has a real passion in helping others. Jane is inspired in helping others with barrel racing and pole bending. At Melby barrel clinics, they will teach you the secrets to success. The entire Melby family including her husband Ryan, son Colton and daughter Cayla have been hosting clinics as a family together for almost 10 years. Jane alone has been hosting barrel racing clinics for over 20 years and has helped produce many well achieved barrel racers.

What to expect at a Melby barrel clinic

Jane and Ryan's clinics are known for being a very friendly and inviting atmosphere for learning new riding techniques. You will be welcomed into their home and barn like your family with anything needed throughout the weekend available. Both Jane and Ryan participate throughout the entire weekend including meals together with friendly discussions and lectures. The pace of each clinic gets tailored to the level of the overall group with one on one training for each rider throughout the clinic. No matter your current riding level, you will end the weekend multiple steps closer to your barrel racing goal.

Improved Clinic Options

The great successes Jane has been having at the rodeos the last few years comes at the great cost of time. We regularly have people wanting to come learn the Melby way of riding and training horses, but their & Jane's schedule simply don't allow it. We are proud to announce we are now a full time barrel and roping ranch offering a complete program for you and your horse, even when Jane is on the road. For years, Ryan, Colton and Cayla have been helping put on Jane Melby clinics, training horses and teaching barrel racers, somewhat behind the scenes. They have acquired a true gift in teaching and are now eager to bring you complete clinics, lessons, training and maintenance. Remember, the entire Melby Team took part in training RC Back In Black, a three time NFR gold buckle winner.

Not Your Typical Barrel Racing Clinic Experience

One students experience: Thank you so much for welcoming all of us into your home and teaching me so much. Going into the clinic I had no idea what it was going to be like because I had never been to one before. The way we were invited into your home, fed and surrounded by great people really made this clinic special. I found it very helpful to start out on the ground first like we did on Friday night. I also liked how we could go through anything as many times as we wanted so we got it just right and weren't rushed through things. Having your husband, daughter and son help out was also great. I got a lot of great tips from them also! Being able to go through the barrels multiple times was very helpful and I liked all of the constructive criticism you gave me, after all I was there to learn and I like how straight forward you were! Also, great job at NFR! It was really cool to be able to watch you run and win three runs!! I would like to thank you again for putting on a great clinic and also to everyone who helped out! Just wanted to thank Ryan and Jane for the awesome clinic they put on at their place last weekend.......learned so much and had fun doing it!

We would love to come to the locaiton of your choice for us to host a barrel clinic. This is a great option if you know several people that would be like to attend a clinic but the travel would be too far. The Melby team simply charges a flat rate for the dates you select, then you promote, fill, sell your clinic at prices you determine.
